Questions & Answers

Have a technical question about this product?

Ask us a question

Q:

Can this external SSD enclosure be used with usb 2.0 ports?

A:

The product is designed specifically to function with USB 3.0 ports due to the additional power they provide. The main difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 are the power each port provides to its connected device, and the transfer speeds each interface offers. USB 3.0 being the fastest and more powerful. In most cases USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, but for this particular product I would recommend staying with a USB 3.0 interface as advised by the manufacturer.
